OsmoLax is an osmotic laxative that contains macrogol 3350 which has been clinically proven to relieve constipation. It works by restoring the natural rhythm by using the body´s own water to gently increase the frequency of bowel movements and to soften the stool so it is easier to pass. It generally produces a bowel movement in 1 to 3 days. OsmoLax works gently and does not cause cramps or gas. OsmoLax can be used for children as well as adults.
Some macrogol products contain electrolytes and may have a salty taste. OsmoLax does not contain any electrolytes so it does not have a salty taste. OsmoLax can be mixed with any liquid hot or cold.
OsmoLax is free from gluten, lactose, yeast and has no artificial flavours, colours or sweeteners.
Dosage for adults and children over the age of 12 years: Two level measuring scoops (17g) mixed with 100 to 200mL of liquid once daily. This can be increased to 2 or 3 doses (4 to 6 level scoops) daily if required or as directed by your health care professional.
For children age 6 to 12 years: Two level measuring scoops (17g) mixed with 100 to 200mL of liquid once daily or as directed by your health care professional.
For children age 4 to 5 years: One level measuring scoop (8.5g) mixed with 100mL of liquid once daily or as directed by your health care professional.
Directions for Use: Add OsmoLax powder (see dosage above) to any beverage (hot or cold), such as water, juice, soft drinks, coffee or tea. Stir until dissolved and then drink. If desired, the solution may be stored covered in the fridge. Discard any solution that is not used within 6 hours. Drink plenty of water and increase fibre in the diet during treatment.
Prolonged use of laxatives is undesirable and may cause serious bowel problems. If symptoms persist seek medical advice.
